In both 2010 and 2011, THE NEST designed and developed the site for the Dungog Film Festival, one of the most vibrant and unique film festivals in Australia. Taking place every year in the tiny NSW town of Dungog, the noncompetitive annual event is now the biggest festival of Australian film content in the world and a launch pad for filmmakers. By hosting what is billed as “the world’s biggest celebration of Australian films”, Dungog has become a key event on the screen industry’s calendar and a must-see event for lovers of Australian screen culture.

In addition to the site development, The Nest also continues to provide Dungog Film Festival with a combined Content Management System, Email Marketing System, E-commerce solution and Customer Database.

As sponsors of the Film Festival, in 2010 The Nest helped to celebrate the Festival’s 100% Aussie credentials with an Australian film competition of our very own. Dungog may well be the largest Australian film festival in the country, but our ‘micro-film’ competition may well have been the smallest. 125 characters small, to be exact. We asked festival-goers and site visitors to tweet a creative synopsis of their favourite Aussie flick in 125 characters or less. The competition was also promoted in Dungog via a set of colourful postcards and limited edition badges, featuring some classic Aussie film quotes. The winning tweet landed themselves a tasty Flip Mini HD Video Camera, courtesy of The Nest. For more info on the competition, and to read some of the entries, visit The Nest Blog.
