Habitus, the renowned ‘design hunting’ magazine, has reviewed our recent iPhone app for artwhatson, describing it as “one of the most talked-about art apps to hit the Apple iPhone” and making us blush with their kind words about our site design for Art Month Sydney.
The review reads:
“A new iPhone application brings art hunting to your finger tips, helping you find art galleries and artists across Australia.
“When Art Month Sydney launched their website recently, we fell in love with its simple, easy-to-navigate design and layout. So it’s no surprise that the same designers, The Nest, are behind one of the most talked-about art apps to hit the Apple iPhone – artwhatson.
“The application is an extension of the successful art calendar, artist profile and gallery directory website, artwhatson.com.au. The App allows you to search for exhibitions and galleries in each state and can even show you galleries that are near you (by locating you in the same way the maps application does).
“You can browse galleries by state and A-Z and get information on what’s on right now, what’s closing soon and what’s coming up. You can also mark favourites and return to them later.
“The App received 11,000 downloads in its first 2 weeks and, the best part, it’s free! We’re looking forward to a few more listings in other states, such as ACT and Tassie, but with new listings constantly being added we’re bound to see more.”
