Free Social Media Workshop at Underbelly Arts Festival
by The Nest on Jul 1, 2011 • 11:31 am No CommentsUnderbelly Arts 2011 is on this month, bringing you some of the best new works by Australia’s freshest creative talent, all in the incredible surrounds of Cockatoo Island, Sydney Harbour. Starting this weekend, you can literally ‘watch art unfold’ as over 150 artists collaborate on exciting, innovative and experimental projects during a 10-day residency, culminating in The Festival itself on Saturday 26th July, a big finale showing off and celebrating fruits of the artists’ hard work.
As part of the residency program (dubbed ‘The Lab’), there are a series of free and open workshops taking place on Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th July – Stuart Buchanan from The Nest will be giving a free social media workshop, aimed at artists and arts organisations, at 12:30 on Saturday 9th. No bookings required – just turn up! More information at the Underbelly site, made by The Nest with Festival Design from Perran Costi.

Social Media – What’s your story? With Stuart Buchanan
Getting into Facebook, Twitter and blogging is only half the story – what do you do once you’re there? How do you, as an artist, make good use of these tools to tell the full story? Stuart Buchanan has worked with a multitude of key arts organisations, both here and overseas, helping them to make the most of the web and social media. In this highly practical session, he introduces various ways to help you along the path towards social media enlightenment.
